Things to Do in the Lou in August


St. Louis is live with fun events this August! There's something for everyone, from culinary delights to live music to unique cultural experiences. Here are ten events we are particularly excited about.


Taste of St. Louis

August 2-4: Ballpark Village

Taste of St. Louis presents a selection of more than 30 local, brick-and-mortar restaurants. Eventgoers can order everything from snack-size samples to complete entrees.


Blues at the Arch

August 9 and 10: The Gateway Arch

Hosted by the Gateway Arch Park Foundation, in partnership with the National Blues Museum and the National Park Service, Blues at the Arch pays tribute to St. Louis’ storied blues history and showcases the talents of local, regional and national artists.


Grub & Groove

August 10: Francis Park

Your favorite summer park party is taking place in Francis Park on Saturday August 10th. This year’s festival will feature another amazing lineup of local restaurants and a stage packed with exceptional local musicians. With a day’s worth of activities including a kid’s zone, retail village, and multiple bars, there is something for everyone.


STLFringe FEST

August 12 - 18: Grand Center Arts District

Champion uncensored work. Connect artists with audiences. Engage and educate local, regional and global cultural communities. These are the pillars of STLFringe. At the organization’s annual performing arts festival in the Grand Center Arts District, you can experience world-class, multidisciplinary pieces by diverse, independent creators.

 


Moonlight Ramble

August 17: Downtown St. Louis

The annual Moonlight Ramble® is the “World’s Original Nighttime Bike Ride” held in St. Louis, Missouri at midnight near the full moon in August. Attracting thousands of riders each year, the event includes a leisurely bike ride through the streets of St. Louis, a vendor area, entertainment, a commemorative event shirt, and an after-ride party with snacks and drinks.

Beyoncé : Renaissance World Tour

August 21: The Dome at America’s Center

When Beyoncé performed in St. Louis in September 2016, the BeyHive buzzed with excitement and anticipation from the moment they took their seats. This month, the global superstar returns to The Dome at America’s Center to deliver one of St. Louis’ biggest concerts of the year. 

 


Jammin' at the Zoo

August 23: St. Louis Zoo

Sip and savor adult beverages and enjoy live entertainment at this adults-only event!

Jammin’ at the Zoo is hosted by the Zoo Young Professionals, a group of adults in their 20s and 30s dedicated to the continued success of the Zoo. Proceeds from this event help our Zoo’s conservation efforts here and around the world. 21+ Only

 


St. Louis Car Museum Car Show

August 24: St. Louis Car Museum

Cruise in and give back to the St. Louis Area Foodbank on August 24th at the St. Louis Car Museum! Our annual open house & car show is FREE to attend and takes you back in time with a 300+ car display, classic music, vintage collectibles, and so much more! Please bring canned food & dry goods donations.


Festival of Nations

August 24-25: Tower Grove Park

The beauty of St. Louis lies in the diversity of its people. Bringing an energy that you can’t find anywhere else, Festival of Nations, produced by the International Institute of St. Louis, is the region’s largest multicultural event of the year, representing more than 75 nations with food, demonstrations, dance and music.


The Japanese Festival

August 31–September 1: MOBOT

Experience the thunderous pounding rhythms of the taiko drums, sumo wrestling, and more at this three-day cultural adventure right here at the Garden. For more than 40 years, the Missouri Botanical Garden has produced the annual Japanese Festival in conjunction with the Japanese Activities Committee, a coalition of several Japanese-American organizations that provide art, dance, food and entertainment for thousands of visitors each year.
